Also present: Longo, Midyett, Best, Cattan Guests: Tom Kirby, Paul Chamberlain, Mr. Savage, Mr. Tapia, Mr. Hoofard, Mr. Holeman, Mr. Stephens Minutes of January 26*,1965 were read and approved. RESOLUTION 6503-Designating Depositary of District Funds* Moved by Director Rose and seconded by Director Fink Resolution 6503 be adopted* Passed and adopted by the following roll call vote: AYES: AWEEKA, FIRPO, ROSE, FINK, DOYLE NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE J-0 Minutes February 9, 1965 Continued Manager presented following contracts for Security Lights to Board; j - - Douglas Lumber Company , Francis Snyder -"Ponderosa Buick" Allied Automotive, Inc. Tahoe Truckee School District -Elementary School Tahoe Truckee School District -High School Reg Smart -"Smarts Cafe & Lounge" Nick Comola- "Shell Warehouse" - Francis Fox Osburn's Buick Garage Guido Cozzi- "Cozzi' s-" Robert F. Purington-"The Nuggett" On motion made, seconded and duly passed unaminusly the President and secretary were -authorized to sign the contracts. Attorney Chamberlain summer-ized briefly for the board changes made in the Cable contract. - - Resolution 6504-Agreement for T.V. Cable Moved by Director -Firpo and seconded by Director Fink, Resolution 6504 be adopted. - Passed and adopted by the following roll vote: AYES: AWEEKA, FIRPO, ROSE, -FINK, DOYLE- NOES : None ABSENT: None Mr. Holeman representing Sanford Tractor and Mr. Stephens from the Utility Body Co. appeared before the board inregards to quotations -� on a backhoe and truck. Mr. Holeman's quotation on truck was aroun4 $4,508.800 $6,r700.00 ladder, $8,850.00 backhoe. Discussion followed on different types of baskets for the chassis* gross weight of vehicle, mounting of winch and winch controls. Bucket size for backhoe discussed* Mr. Holeman advised ,the difference in price between an 84 inch and 72 inch bucket would be around $ 75.00, but felt a 72 inch would be more practical,, - Dir. Aweeka felt backhoe was too light: Mr. Holeman advised the unit -was built for industrial work. Cab for backhoe mentioned and Mr . Holeman stated cab would not be too expensive, but would check into the price. The board thanked Mr. Holman and Mr. Stephens for attending the meeting and they left at 8:20 P.M. Dr. Tapia presented official proposal to Board for land by the old Inspection Station. Dr. Tapia stated the land would be used for a -playground for small Children only. Discussion followed and Attorney Chamberlain advised he would check into the law, but he did not think it would be wise to consider selling* Dr . Tapia -thanked the -board and left the meeting at 9:00 P.M. Street Lights at Meadow Way . Manager presented sketch where street lights were needed. After checking over the sketch it was found the ztr4tts were not quite accurate. Manager advised he would have another map drawn up of the area and present it `at the next meeting . 1 i Minutes February 9, 1965 Continued ELECTRIC Manager reported crew is assembling circuit breakers at sub -station. George Cattan's Employment: Manager requested Board consider re- hiring Mr. Cattan from March 15, 1965 to November 15, 1965. Attorney Chamberlain suggested writing Mr. Cattan a letter re- instating him for that period. Moved by Director Rose and -seconded by Director Fink N manager write letter to Mr. Cattan re -instating him from March 15, 1965 to November 15, 1965 under the same conditions � of his contract with District dated April 23, 1964. So carried. Manager reported he had no word as yet inregards to his letter to the Board of Supervisors concerning a stop sign at the corner of Tahoe Drive & Lake Avenue. - Concerning the 13 lots in the - Armstrong Sub -division manager re- ported Mr. Russell will provide the District with a $10, 000.00 performance bond. Street Lights: Tim Best advised hehad spoke to Frank Giovannoni and the District could use Sierra Pacific's ladder truck anytime it -was available. WATER: Manager reported he had written letter to Mr. Topol thanking him for the use of his cat during the Deerfield flood. --- Manager advised he had sent -in claim to Civil Defense,, Karl Kuttel's „ bills come to $3,750.00.
