Over 100 garbage cans of trash were hauled to the Truckee Donner Disposal site at Hirschdale by workmen employed by the District in District equipment. There remains 50 feet of installation; still to be done on Spring Street during the coming week. The blacktop is to be done all at one time, when Nevada County e""' is ready to resurface the alley. F . Dolley, Chairman of Clean -Up Day, has - requested the cooperation of the Utility District in loaning men and equipment to assist in the yearly civic project. They need a backhoe and truck to assist the volunteer labor force, Manager Longo was authorized to use the GMC flat bed truck, with a volunteer driver, and our backhoe, with only our District operator to handle. Wages were authorized for this equipment operator. 1. Chairman Aweeka suggested that we might consider buying the lot at some future date if the need arises. OLD ICE PALACE PROPERTY - A serious problem has been brought to the attention of the Manager through complaints of parents of small children 1 iv ing near the property known as the Old Ice Palace, located on property belonging to the District south - of the Truckee River and west of the Brockway Shortcut,. Following discussion, the Board asked Directors Fink and Doyle to contact the Truckee volunteer Fire Department and see if they wish to burn the building down at a practice session. Following the burning, the District will check the remaining hazard to see if it shouldn't be filled in and leveled.
