The members of the Board o Directors f t Truckee Public
Utility District/Mt �p°ec��'frsess�on°��cbhe office of the
District on Main Street at 7:40 P.M. for the purpose of consid-
ering the Wage and Working Agreement for the year 1966.
All Directors were present.
Also present: Longo, Best, Cattan, and N. F. Dolley.
EMPLOYEES REQUESTS FOR NEGOTIATION ON NEW WORKING CONTRACT -
APRIL 1966 were considered one item at a time, with Superinten-
dent L. H. Best representing the employees. Following are the
requests, and the results of the discussions and negotiations:
Item #1: Two days paid time off for attending funeral of close
reka.tIves .
Directors consider this a reasonable request but limit
the paid time off to two days, and allow this privil&ge to
attend funerals of immediate family members only.
Item #2: Day after Thanksgiving off with pay.
Since no other business houses in the area are closed
for business on this day, nor Banks or government agencies,
Board considers it obligatory to conduct business as usual.
Request denied.
Item #3 : 25/a reduction in utility bills.
Denied. Many of the customers being served by the
District receive; less pay than our employees, and are re-
quired to pay full rates - would not apply to all employees
equally since some do not live' in area served by District.
Item #4: All of insurance paid by District.
Denied. District now paying one-half for both employee
and his family. Most businesses now paying for employee
only. Attempt will be made to secum: better pol icy .
Item #5: Cost of living clause in contract.
Denied. No surveys to determine accurately what the
cost of 1 iv ing figures are for the area.
Item #6: Electric Crew - raise to coincide with that allowed to
Sierra Pacific line crews.
Granted. Following study of latest wage scales granted
to Sierra Pacific crews, Board granted the following:
To all employees of the electric and water crews* in-
cluding the Superintendent over both crews, a twenty-five
cent an hour raise was granted for the coming year on a
sliding scale. Fifteen cents (154%.) per hour was granted
immediately, retroactive to April 1, 1966; and an additional
ten cents an hour (104,1) granted beginning October 1, 1966.
Item #7: Pension plan - State.
Denied at this time. No funds to cover District share.

Item 8: Safety belts to be furnished by District.
Granted. Lineman requested to keep belts in best of
condition since their lives may depend on them.
Item 9: - Water Crew -- 254� per hour raise.
Granted under Item 6 to all employees of both crews,
Item 10 : Meter Reader -- 251r per hour raise.
Granted under Item 6.
Item 11: Safety Meetings,
Board approved reasonable time allowance for such
meetings on company time - approximately four hours per
month. Details to be.�;worked out by Manager and Superintendent.
Item 12 : " -Vacations to be split only once,
Approved, except for cases of extreme emergency at
the discretion of the Manager.
Item 13: Progress report on each employee.
Denied. Clerical work involved and time loss will
not justify. In small employee group, personal contact
with supervisors -eliminates the need for periodical written
reports.

Superintendent Best is to take the Board's actions back to the
employees for ratification, and report back at the regular
meeting scheduled for May 3rd, 1966. Resolution of new agree-
ment will be presented at that time.
In discussion following the treatment of the above matters, the
Directors decided to set up some policy rules for employees to
follow, but delayed action until they can hold an executive
session -on the matter.
