Manager reported Baines would report to work July 6th and Dias
was out of the hospital, but would not return - to work _ as the result
of injuries receired wh1.e working at theAirport. Mr, Dias_ suffered
a leg injury and will not beable to return to _work until sgmetime
in September.

The manager was asked if the extra help in the electric and water
department were necessary. Manager felt the extra help was needed,
At this time Director Firpo brought up the problem of the Distkict•s
crew leaving a job early in order to be at the warehouse by noon,
Director Firpo stated he had been keeping tract of the time spent
going to and from the warehouse _.and the number of times Mr, Best
came to the office. Director Firpo stated he was under the impression
the Mr. Best was to be a working foreman and spend more time with
his crew. Director Firpo and Mr. Best than became engaged in a
heated discussion.
Bills for board's approval continued. Moved by Director Rose
and seconded by Director Doyle, the bills paid and the bills for

ARMSTRONG SUBDIVISION ,, UNITS 2
Manager reported -he checked the Hofert Spring and it is approx,
130 feet higher than Donner Trail Tank and less than 1h miles
from Donner Trail Unit #2 storage tank. McGlashons Spring could
be used to serve Armstrong Subdivision and the . subdivision could
pay for the line, This would be the answer _to the problem of
water supply to Arms gong Unit #2 , Manager reported he wrote to
Hofert Co but has received a reply as yet. The Hofert Spring produces
100 gallons per minute -doesn't produce as much as Shepherders,
Manager, felt the board should request Mr. Sharp to' come back to
the District with another proposal in behalf of the Armstrong
Development. Manager was given authorization to go ahead with
all preliminaries necessary for filing.
MANAGERS REPORT
Manager reported he was .going ahead with extension of line from
the sub --station to Topols. Transformers havebeen ordered,

Oil column has broken on the So. Side Well -Pump. Dave Vieu has
taken parts to Brown & Mulberry in Reno and pump should be in
operation by tomorrow.
Manager read letter from McDonough to Mr. Campbell of S.P.P.. Co.
dated June 30,r 1966. Manager advised there has been nctthin% further
on Sierra Pacifies proposal. -
r Discussion ensued as to the number of miles -to be converted.
Manager advised there -was 4h miles -and if the. major portion was
to be converted by winter he would need three crews* If bids
were called- for to -complete the conversion manager advised
Turner, Harker & Harker and a contractor from Auburn would probably
be the only ones bidding. George Cattan stated the District
could not afford to hire a contractor, another two lineman
would be all they needed and they could convert all winter. Manager
advised material wasnot holding. up the job -man power was needed.
Manager reported he had a i i.nemaA coming from Ukiah .
BEAVERS -PONDEROSA PALISADES
Manager -reported there was another half mile of line to be
constructed - in Ponderosa Palisades after application is submitted
to the District*

RECREATION DISTRICT -WATER SUPPLY FOR IRRIGATION 6 MONTHS PER YEAR
Cost per Mo. Cost per Year
June 1966 water Consumption 97 000 gals/month: 24.45
June 1970 when all facilities are completed
water consumption assumed 200, 000 gals/month: 40.50 243.00
Proposition A for 200,000 gals per month
supply direct from our pump house
the cost would be 50% of 40.50 - 20.25 121.50
Investment of $8000.00 for road
crossing & piping
Propos it io; B for 200 , 000 gals per month
Pumping from Well* 1201 difference in
elevation, & 1200 ft . of 2-:1-2" pipes.
Pumping 4 hours 9 days per month
Cost of Electricity per month $13.09
Maintenance & operation per month $ 5.00 18.09 108.54
Investment Pump & Housing = 1,600
Piping _, 6.
.
$ -= 7,600
pump will deliver 100 gals per minute which is not suitable for fire
P
rotect ion . By adopting Proposition A the saving per year $ 243.00-121.5 0=
121.50 per year but an investment of $8000.00 is required.
If Proposition B is adopted the saving is $ 243.00-108.54=134.46 per year
but an investment of $ 7 , 600.00 is to be made*
Recommendation
From above it is seen that it would be best for the Recreation District
to receive their water supply from our mains than to adopt Propositions
A or Be as the saving involved does not warrant the investments of
$8r 000.00 or $7,600.00, for the present. Our rate over 60,000 gals/month
is 15 per 10000 gals. which is a reasonable price and -difficult to
compete with* !
