Leasing of land discussed. Director Waters felt the legality in of g y of leas- ing property should be looked into. Chairman Aweeka advised the District did not want 'to sell anymore land at this time. The Board will consider leasing property at their next regular ' Mr. Morris stated his company would g meeting. P y have to have a lease for a period of 25 years, Mr. Morris stated he could get along with a piece land 200 by 200. Mr. Morris thanked the Boa P of Board for their time and left the meeting at 7:55 P.M. The minutes of September 6th, 1966 were read and approved subject to the following correction: L.H. Best-3rd sentence -page 109 should read:Mr. Best did not sayone way or the other if he would appear before the Boar d after speaking to Manager. Manager reported main was broken by Nevada County Garage, excessive maid in springs anda couple of holes in the Forest Service Tank." No damage -to power lines, The District office has been "checked by safety engineers and there is no immediate danger of collapsing. Moved by Director Rose and seconded by Director Firpo-the bills paid and the bills for board's approval be paid as listed. So carried, SANITARY DISTRICT EASEMENT ` Manager reported he had discussed easement with Atty. Chamberlain and Chamberlain advised it was not good practice to negotiate for an easement in exchange for connection free of charge to the sewer 1 ine . Chamberlain stated it would be best to grant the easement and make a charge if the Directors felt a charge necessary. Manager reported work had already been started before Sanitary District requested easement. It was suggest manager check into the connection charge. ` Di Lector waters will check minutes of Sanitary Dist. concern- ing the "connection to Safeway. PROSSER LAKEVIEW ESTATES LINE CLEARING Manager reported the Telephone Co. is .putting in cable an a clearing of twenty feet will be needed for' the power line. The District pays rental of $1.25 per pole to the Telephone Co. The Clearing will cost approx. $1, 600.00 and manager requested authorization to pay for half of 'the clearing, amounting to approx $800.Oa. Thirty one poles are involved and it would be cheaper for the Distri-.ct to pay half of the clearing than to build its own line which will cost approx $4,800.00. y r _ a 177 Motion made by Director Waters and seconded by Directors Firpo manager be given Jauthorization to negotiate with the Telephone Co. for clearing of line to Prosser Lakeview Estates up to $800.00. So carried. Motion made by Director Firpo and seconded by Director waters that George Cattan be given an increase in salary in the amount of $100.00 per month. So carried. Director Firpo excused himself and left the meeting at 9:00 P.M. to attend a dinner party* MANAGERS REPORT Manager reported negotiate on the Park . the Dept. of Beaches and parks will be up to $5,000.00 connection fee at Donner Memorial State Manager reported the wells belonging to Mr . Fox and Mr . Miedama on River Street have been giving them problems since the swere line was installed in that area. The Sanitary District would like the _ Distr ict* to service these two customers at Sanitary District expense* Manager asked if the $ 250.00 will apply to these two customers? Manager advised in order to extend line to this area he would have to cross under the railroad tracks and this will involve a rental fee to Southern Pacific. Correspondence read by manager from Martin McDonough dated September 15th and 16th. Letters concerned McDonough's meeting with George Herrington and a meeting with Bureau of Reclamation to hear any ,.�.explanat ion of the new contract between Bureau of Reclamation and P.G. & E. f er read "Schedule of Events" for the n of manager ...�, Service Agreement with,z.D • I the Electric manager showed map of wheeling area of P.G. & E as provided for in the Inter -tie contract between Bu3mu of Reclamation and P.G. & E. George Cattan reported on inventory count being taken at Donner Lake by Sierra Pacific Power Co. Every pole is check and a record kept of every item on the pole. Mr. Cattan reported Sierra Pacific keeps a record of services not consumer and a number of services are on trees. Mr. Cattan advised the weakest spot is the main line and will have to be replaced one day. The District will beable to get REA financing when the line is ready to be replaced. Manager reported cIcle billing will be used if Donner Lake is purchased. MANAGERS REPORT Prosser Lake line has been converted. Olympic Height will be con- verted on Friday the 23 rd . WATER: Line to scale house is ready for replacement* oww. Earthquake damage nominal to equipment. Check valve and meter disc had to be replaced at the Soo Side Spring* held manager reported a meeting was/at Donner Lake with Mr. Borchard cog ncernin soil conservation at Summit Creek* Manager was asked if the Di strict would be interested in participating.
