January 3, 1967
The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee, Public Utility
District met in a regular meeting at the office of the District on
Main Street at 7:40 P.M.
Upon roll -call the following directors were noted present:
Aweeka. Firpor Rose, waters, Doyle
District Employees present: Longo, Midyett
Minutes of December 20, 1966 were read and approved subject to the
following correction: Page 7 - figure should be changed to
$1,000.00 instead of $100.00

Bids were tuned over to manager to be evaluated.
REPORT ON CONNECTION CHARGE
Manager reported he was engaged in tabulating different cities,
Norman Woodbury of C .M, U,A , is T gathering information which the
District should haver presently. .Manager contacted Bill Layton of
the Tahoe City Public Utility and _ they are -working on a connection
charge which will also _ include . a _ fee for sewers, Manager under-
, ,
stands this will not be an advanced fee. Nevada Irrigation Dist,
has a similar charge as the District and manager should have
further information by , the 10th. Arcade Development has a charge
of $185.00 plus a $35.00 water connection charge which is not re-
fundable. Everyti.mev the water is connected or disconnected this fee
of $35.00 is charged.. Director eaters felt the answer to the
problem -is to change, the Ordinance to provide source and transmission,
Discussion ensued as, to where Prosser Lakeview Estates obtained
their original source of water._. for Unit #1,
Manager explained the peak demand on the system during summer months
and at times of emergency such as are encountered at fires it is
impossible for the sources to replentish demands on the system in
quantities that are consumed., In order to provide sufficient

storage to off -set demand large tanks, top large,to bf! practical,
would be required. Chairman Aweeka stated you have to produce_
four times as much to operate the system, Director Rose asked the
Chairman where he obtained this figure. Director Rose asked manager
how much more water would be required to keep he al ty , 14anager^ ad-
v ised twice as much*' Director Firpo asked what the cost would be
to replace the system. Manager estimated $ 3 25 , 000.00 . Manager
reported there are two systems going out of town, McGlashons and
Tonini . When breakage occures , as it dia this week at the end of:
of Vest Main Street,- it is replaced with the same size pipe. Event-
ually the line will -came down from Gateway. Manager advised, he
would beable to furnish more information when he hears from

IBEW LOCAL 1245
Manes er read correspondance from Paul Chamberlain dated December 23rd,

to Messrs. Neyhart and Grodin. Letter read from I.B.E.W. dated
December 29th, stating areas of revision which Union wishes to
discuss with the Board. Manager was instructed to contact the
National Labor Relations Board requesting their assistance with
the Union problem.
MANAGERS REPORT
Manager read letter from Attorney Chamberlain dated December 28th
concerning the following:
1. Director Firpo (or any other Board member) resigning due
to a conflict of interest*
2 . Election laws*
3 . Research of District records .
Manager advised Martin McDonough phoned today and he advises Nir .
Phineas of the Congressional committee will be in Sacramento on
the 9th of January. McDonough suggest representation from the
District. Manager reported he would let the Directors know when
a meeting will be held.
Manager reported on the water line to Hugh Cameron's property on
the Brockway Shortcut.
Director Doyle inquired as to the work being done by his home
in Donner Trails. Manager advised a pole would be set this week
as the span was too long .

manager was given authorization to write off $344.80 as bad debts.

Manager reported the Recreation Lease has been approved.
Manager reported the Sanitary District is considering taxing
the 120 acres by Soma Sierra. -Manager stated he would discuss
the matter with Martin McDonough.
There being no further business to be brought before the Board
motion made by Director Rose, seconded by Director Firpo the
meeting be adjourned at 9:15 P.M. So carried.
