HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-03-21 Min - BoardTRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT RESOLUTION #6705 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TRUCKEE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT as follows: SECTION 1. The form of "Electric System Acquisition Agreement" attached hereto, with such nonsubstantive changes as may be acceptable to the President of this Board, including such of those changes outlined in the letter of March 17, 1967, written by the attorney for this District to its bond attorney, as may be agreed upon, is hereby approved subject to such approval of the U.S. Rural Electrification Administration of such agreement as may be required; and the President and Secretary are hereby authorized to execute the same on behalf of this District, SECTION 2. The attorney for this District is authorized to pre- pare and file, in cooperation with the attorney for Sierra -Pacific Power Company, and the President and Secretary are authorized to sign, an appl is at ion to the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California and an application to the Federal Power Commission to obtain their approval of the agreement referred to in SECTION 1 hereof after it has been fully executed. Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: Aweeka, Firpo, Rose, Waters, Director Doyle arrived at 7 : 50 P.M. Minutes of March 7th, 1967 were approved as read. So carried. David Vieu appeared before the Board to negotiate for wage increase for April 1967-1968 . Mr. Vieu requested the following: 1. 251t. per hour increase . 2. Rain gear ( rubber pants and coat) to be furnished by the District, 3 . Minimum telephone charge to be paid by District, 4. All insurance to be paid. 5. All other conditions to remain the same as last years wage agreement . The Board advised they would consider Mr . Views requests and he left the meeting at 7:50 P.M. John Hemler, Commercial SalesManager for KHOE Radio Station appeared before the Board with a radio .advertising proposal. The cost of this program based on a 12 month contract would be $75.00 per month for one program a day, five days a week, which would be put on the air at 7:45 A.M.. On a basis of less than five programs per week the cost would be $5.50 per program. Mr. Hemler played a tape with an advertising message which gave the Directors an idea how the advertising would be htLndled . The Board thanked Mr . Hemler and advised they would give consideration to his proposal. Manager went over the "Electric System Acquisition Agreement" with the Board* RESOLUTION #6705 - Giving approval of the Electric System Acquisition Agreement. Moved by Director Roses seconded by Director Doyle Resolution #67 05 be adopted. Passed and adopted by the following roll call vote: Ayes: Aweeka, Firpo, Rose, Doyle, Waters Noes: None Absent: None REPORT ON PROTEST HEARING (Hofert Spring) Manager attended meeting in Sacramento on protest hearing* Manager informed Mr . Chamberlain of the Fish & Game Region Dept. the District could not guarantee a flow of 0.50 cubic per second at any point on the creek. In a discussion with Mr. Saunders he informed manager that the Saunders family has been selling water out of the stream for over 100 years. He further advised he has bought water rights from two other parties in order to control the water. Mr. Saunders is planning to develope a tract in that area. _REPORT ON LAND ASSESSMENT Assessment #119-District has deed to Smith & Morse dated 1959. Deed was never recorded. Morse sold his interest to Smith. Mr. Smith is now deceased. Nevada County Title has recorded a deed to Sharel Smith. The District cannot issue a quit claim deed to Mrs. Smith. Assessment #147- Fred O. Morris - Improvements to land were never made. Assessment #1 - 120 acres - not all can be developed - 50 acres of good land. Manager read letter from Martin McDonough dated March 17, 1967 pertaining to Section 5301 of the Streets and Highway code. Assessment #122. -- Leslie Oswalt - Quit Claim Deed has never been recorded. Survey fee was never paid. RECAP on Board decision: Oswalt to be given deed Mrs. Sharel Smith to be given title Sanitary Assessment #147 - Fred Morris - Land to be put up for bid after notice. Land at "fit" - Portion to be paid 120 acres - To be taken off tax roll Sanitary Assessment #111 - To be put up for bid as one lot. Assessment #4 - To be put up for bid. Assessor Parcel #671-Northwest corner lot in Donner Trail Unit #2 to be put up for bid. DOUGLAS LUMBER CORPORATION Mr. Banino of the Bureau of Electricity in Alameda stated he would definately not test the meters at the Mill. Manager reported Westinghouse will contact a professor at the University and ask if he will take on the j ob as a pro j ect . MANAGERS REPORT 37 transformers remaining on Sierra Pacifics substation, these will be converted to our substation by July 12th. April 5th , 1967 has been set for the Directors to tour Sierra Pacifics steam plant in Tracy, Nevada. There being no further business to be brought before the Board motion made by Director Rose, seconded by Director Waters the meeting be adjourned. So carried, Edward N. Aweeka, Chairman M.
