The members of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public
Utility District met in a regular meeting at the office of the District
on Donner Pass Road, Truckee, California, at 7:30 P . M.
Upon roll call the following Directors were noted present: Doyle,
Rose, Loehr, Stone, Moore
t District employees present: Catt an, Paulus, Osburn
Guests present: Ted Petry, Karl Kuttle, Bruce Grow, Mrs . Grow
Minutes of the regular meeting of December 16, 1969 were approved as
written.
It was moved by Director Rose and Seconded by Director Stone that bills
paid and bills for Board's approval be paid as listed.
TED PETRY
Mr. Ted Petry was here to demonstrate the dictaphone which was discussed
at a previous meeting. He explained the machine to the Board. It has
belts which are used for the recording There are two of them and they
must be changed every fifteen minutes . These belts cannot be erased
therefore they can be used as evidence ,in court . y1 3 machine can also
record telephone messages . The belts cost eight cents a piece.
D:_rec t or Loehr stated he was quoted a price by the Nevada County pur-
chasing agent of approximately $980.00 for the dictaphone. Mr. Petry
stated this is correct for a certain portion of it , The basic system
- is $975 .00, the mixer box $185 .00, the microphones are $67 .50 C ,
and the stands for them run $7 .15 C . There is a pre-amplifier in each
microphone. The entire machine will run approximately $1,454 .00.
It would be too heavy to be transported and Director Loehr asked if
the minutes could be recorded onto old recorder for secretary's use.
The machine could be put on aQ ntract for 18 months . Can also be leased.
It is called a Ditalease which is paid quarterly ,for t iree years, and
all maintenance is included. It would run approximately $160.00 to
$170.00 per quarter.
They have a smaller single--machine which also has a hand mike. It
could be used in the outer office also. It is also less expensive .
Mr. Petry described the smaller machine to the Board and it was moved
by Director Stone and seconded by Director Loehr we incur the single
, machine.
After brief discussion the motion and the seconds: was withdrawn
and Mr. Petry will bring the single rriach ire to the next regular
meeting for demonstration.
District has certain policy on amount of cost of items . It is necessary
to have quotations on anything under $2,500.00. Anything over this
must be advertised in the paper. Discussion ensued-
LAND VALUAT ION
Mr. Paulus explained to the Board that we have various parcels of land in
the area and over the years the auditors have Grit ized us for not
having the original values . We have a figure in the books that has
been carried over for years,, but the auditors cannot confirm whether
it is correct or not . They maintain going through a title company.
