SPECIAL MEETING
April 9, 1984
The special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District was called to order by President Maass at 7:35 P.M.
�. in the TDPUD Board room.
ROLL CALL: Directors Cooley, Corbett, Duffy, Hamilton and Maass were present.
CONSULTANTS PRESENT: Interim Manager Schinman, Counsel Simon and Phelps.
EMPLOYEES PRESENT: Mary Chapman, Lissa Schreiner and Susan Craig.
OTHERS PRESENT: Among those present were Sally Campbell, Fran Benoit, Joel
Grey and David Toussaint.
POSSIBLE ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION APPOINTING DATA PROCESSING SUPERVISOR
Manager Schinman advised that on April 5th, he sent copies of Roman
Gillen's resume and recommendations to each of the Directors for review.
He indicated Mr. Gillen is a likable, friendly individual, who appears to
be well qualified for the position and, thereafter, recommended that he be
appointed Data Processing Supervisor at a starting salary of $25,000.
Director Corbett noted that he met Mr. Gillen and was very favorable
impressed.
Director Hamilton stated he feels the position should report to the
General Manager rather than the Office Manager; Director Corbett agreed.
Mr. Schinman recommended the position report to the Office Manager, and in-
dicated the Harvey Rose management audit team also feel this to be proper.
Director Duffy moved, and Director Corbett seconded, that the Board
adopt Resolution No. 8420 approving the Data Processing Supervisor job
description, ratifying ying appointment of Roman Gillen to the position and es-
tablishing compensation. Director Duffy noted that he would rely on staff's
recommendation that the individual report to the Office Manager. ROLL CALL:
all Directors, aye. SO RESOLVED.
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
On behalf of the District, President Maass presented plaques in appre-
ciation of the time and work involved in selecting a new District Manager
to the Selection Committee (Mary Chapman, Lissa Schreiner, Fran Benoit, Joel
Grey and, although not present, Mike Connell) . Letters of thanks were also
presented. Dave Toussaint of the Sierra Sun was in the audience and took
several photographs for publication.
CLOSED SESSION
The Board adjourned to closed session at 7:45 P.M.
RETURN TO PUBLIC SESSION
The meeting was returned to public session at 8:20 P.M. President
Maass advised that personnel matters were discussed during closed session;
no action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Board, Director Cooley moved
that the meeting be adjourned; Director Corbett seconded the motion. All
Directors, aye, by voice vote. SO MOVED at 8:21 P.M.
