District Board room.

CONSIDERATION OF DON CASLER'S REQUEST TO ABANDON AN EASEMENT - POSSIBLE
ACTION
Don Casler, representing his daughter, Doreen Kennerson, explained Mrs.
Kennerson wishes to build a three bedroom home on AP#19-350-20 in Sierra
Meadows. They have been working with the County of Nevada to abandon a
public utility easement that would interfere with placement of the septic
system. Without abandonment the petitioners could not secure approval from
the County Health Department.
Electric and water systems are in place at this location. The water
service is located between Lots 95 and 96. The overhead electric lines are
at the rear of the lot and not within the ten foot easement_ for which
abandonment is being requested.
Director Sutton noted that the District should not go through abandonment
until it is certain that an easement for the existing pole and line is
received. Perhaps it could be recorded concurrently with the abandonment.
Mr. Casler advised that the telephone company has already provided him with
a letter stating their agreement to abandon interest in the easement.
Also, Pacific Bell is preparing an easement at the rear lot line which will
encompass the District's power line.
Director Cooley moved that the Board approve the petition of Mr. Casler to
abandon the public utility easement with the condition that an easement at
the rear lot line is recorded concurrently; seconded by Director Sutton.
ROLL CALL: Cooley, Sutton and Corbett, aye. Hamilton and Maass, absent.
Director Sutton suggested that the District pursue solutions to of-ter-
ir_>>blems of this nature. There was some discussion, but no direction was
given.
Mr. Casler requested that his daughter be refunded the $150 fee charged by
the District for abandonment of its interest in the easement. After some
discussion it was decided to place this matter on the next regular meeting
agenda for consideration.
AWOURNMNr
There being no further business before the Board, Director Cooley moved
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:02 P.M.; seconded by Director Sutton.
All Directors, aye, by voice vote. SO MOVED.
