TDPUD STAFF REPORT
April 9, 1998
To: Board of Directors
From: Mary Chapman, Administrative Services Manager
Subject: March - April, 1998 Monthly Staff Report
AGENDA #18
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Customer service activity has been very busy. The ski leases are being scheduled for disconnect between April 15 and
May 15.
The staff has commented that most of the customers that they have been talking to don’t even realize that we are giving
them an 11% credit on their bill. We may need to do more to bring this fact to their attention. They have also said they
are only receiving about 5 inquiries per month regarding de-regulation.
NEW CONSTRUCTION:
Nancy said we have only received 4 applications for new construction during the months of March and April. We expect
this to increase considerably once the snow melts.
BILLING:
Billing is current.
Mark just sent out the equal payment letters for the upcoming year to approximately 7,000 customers. We currently
have 930 customers on the plan and hope that more will sign up for this next year.
On April 17, a representative will be here from Orcom. They will be upgrading the billing software to the year 2000
version. They will also install the unbundled bill module. We will need to determine the line items that we want to
include on future bills, develop costs to support those line items and revise our bill to handle the changes before we can
implement the unbundled bill features.
ACCOUNTING:
Accounts payable and payroll are current.
We have had three to five representatives from Arthur Anderson here for almost two weeks auditing the District’s
records. Tomorrow is their last day. After they are gone, we will spend most of our time catching up. We are working to
have the January through March financial and budget reports out within the next few weeks.
OTHER:
Most of my time has been taken up working to prepare for the annual audit, working with the auditors and working on
miscellaneous network issues.
