Subject. Consideration of a Resolution to Commend Paul Rose for His Many
Years of Service
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
This matter involves adoption of a resolution recognizing Paul Rose for his many years
of service to the District on the occasion of his retirement.
2. HISTORY
Paul Rose began his career with the District in 1973 as a seasonal warehouse and
utility employee while still in high school. Paul assumed seasonal roles with the
District from 1973-1986 that included everything from warehouseman to apprentice
lineman. Paul became a permanent District employee on June 25, 1986 as a Water
Helper, From 1986 to present, Paul has progressed through each of the positions
within the District's water utility, continuously building upon his experience and
expanding his knowledge in all aspects of water utility operations.
In his more than 28 years of service with the District, Paul has held the positions of
Water Service Technician Pump Operations Specialist Water Service Foreman
Water Quality Tech/Inspector, and most recently as Senior Water Quality
Tech/Inspector. As a Water Service Tech and Foreman, Paul has been tasked with
memorable projects such as the installation of water mains along Foxmead Lane
following the 9697' floods, emergency water main repairs during the Southwest Gas
project, and pipeline construction inspector during the construction boom of the late
90's and early 2000's. As Senior Water Quality Tech, Paul has played an integral role
in monitoring and maintaining the Districts high standard of water quality, as well as
managing compliance with ever changing State and Federal regulations.
3. NEW INFORMATION
Paul announced his retirement to be effective on December 8, 2014, with his last work
day on November 7. During the past twenty eight years, Paul has been an integral part
of the District's Water Department. He is highly respected by his co-workers for his
superior work ethic and his role as a mentor to the next generation of water utility
operators. We wish Paul and his family the very best in their future endeavors.
Attachment 1 is the draft resolution commending Paul for his service to the District and
its customers.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this agenda item.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution 2014-21 recognizing Paul Rose for his many years of service.
