Subject: Consideration of Declaring District Vehicle Unit 212 Surplus
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Only the Board can declare vehicles surplus.
2. HISTORY
In 2008, the District established Electric Vehicle Replacement Fund to provide a
source of funds for periodic vehicle replacement. Funds are added each year by the
Electric Department as described in the adopted budget.
3. NEW INFORMATION
Unit No. 212, a service body truck, was replaced in 2013, but retained for use as the
Electric Department on-call vehicle. The vehicle should now be surplussed due to age
and high mileage.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
Proceeds from the sale of Unit 212 will be transferred to the Electric Department
Vehicle Replacement Fund.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Declare Unit 212 as surplus and apply the sale proceeds to the Electric Vehicle
Replacement Fund.
