TDPUD STAFF REPORT
April 9, 1998
To: Board of Directors
From: Stephen Hollabaugh, filling in for the Electric Superintendent
Subject: Consideration of granting an easement to the Park and Recreation District for
construction, operation and maintenance of a bicycle path
AGENDA # 8
Background:
The Town of Truckee has been working with the Park and Recreation District concerning a bike
lane easement from the Truckee River Bridge to the Regional Park. Those working on the bike
lane plans have requested a route change. The original alignment was next to our Martis
Substation fence. The new alignment follows a TTSA sewer line that follows the river and the
north quarter of Section 14. This new alignment puts the bike path down the hill from our Martis
Valley Substation but still crosses a corner of our parcel. This new alignment is better for the
PUD because it is farther away from our Martis Valley Substation. The total easement would
encumber 422 sq. ft of the PUD’s property.
Attached is a letter from the Town of Truckee that includes a deed and plat representing this
area.
Recommendation:
I recommend that the Board grant approval of an easement (proposed copy attached) to
the Park and Recreation District for the purpose of constructing, operating and
maintaining a bicycle path.
