Subject: Real Estate Brokerage Service
Summary:
The closing date for the public entites on the parcels in the Glenshire area (Glenshire
Drive and Manchester Drive) is rapidly approaching. It is time to look for a brokerage
service to help with the sale of the parcels.
History:
As part of the Glenshire Mutual Water Company acquisition, the District aquired parcels
of land that were to be sold to help offset the costs of the pipeline and other upgrades
within the Glenshire area. In May of 2003, the Board declared parcels in Glenshire
surplus.
We have advertised in the past for services of a firm to help sell surplus land. Attached
for your review is a copy of the criteria we used and an advertisement that appeared in
the Sierra Sun. We also sent this notice to the Sierra Board of Realty for distribution to
their members. I suggest we do the same kind of advertising this time.
New Information:
As of today's date, none of the public entities, Town of Truckee, Truckee Donner Rec.
and Park District, Tahoe Truckee Unified School District and the State Resource Agency
(the state responded that they have no interest in the parcels) have expressed an
interest in the three parcels.
Recommendation: That the Board advertise for a Real Estate Brokerage Service to
sell the parcels of land: APN 49-280-02, a single family parcel located on Manchester
Drive in Glenshire. In addition, APN 49-011-29 and APN 49-011-31, approximately 7.5
acres located on Glenshire Drive.

The following criteria was proposed at the July 17, 2002 Board meeting:
A Statement of Qualifications and Proposal should include the following information:
Qualifications
1. A resume of your relevant training and experience:
a) Number of years in real estate business and years in the Truckee area.
b) California Agent or Brokers ID number.
c) Are you a member of the Tahoe Sierra Multiple Listing Service?
d) Professional Designations or Association Affiliations which demonstrate your
competence.
2. Your experience and record of success in selling parcels with development or commercial
potential .
3. Any other information you feel that qualifies you to represent us in the sale of our land.
Proposal
1. A summary version of an action plan to facilitate the sale of our land, including marketing
aspects.
2. A statement of how you would help us establish an opinion of value and a listing price.
3. The sales commission that you would require to perform your services.
