Director Ron Hemig
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
The matter involves recognizing the important contributions and service of our out-
going Director Ron Hemig.
2. HISTORY
A Director serves a term of four years with the District.
Ron Hemig was elected in November 1994, served as President of the Board for
seven years and Vice-President for one year. There have been many milestones
during his term. He was a strong proponent to replace coal power with renewable
energy and to understand the complexities of the electric distribution process. Director
Hemig backed technological advancements for all departments, streaming of board
meetings, telecommunications and fiber, and conservation rebate programs and

customer outreach. He was involved in the Martis Valley Groundwater Update Plan,
Truckee River Operating Agreement and the Sphere of Influence update. Director
Hemig supported improvements of the electric distribution system, an integrated water
system and development of SCADA. He was involved in the annexation of Donner
Lake and Glenshire, water meter installation, countless budgets, and the formation of
a District reserve policy. Director Hemig has been a strong supporter of District
employees for benefits, pensions, safety, union and wellness. He was a Northern
California Power Agency commissioner, participated in a UAMPS committee for
Municipal Utility Financing, and attended countless conferences.
Director Hemig has been continuously committed to being informed and doing the best
job possible. He has been ethical, fair and well prepared. Director Hemig leaves a
strong legacy and will be missed by the District.
3. NEW INFORMATION
The Board now has an opportunity to recognize Director Ron Hemig for his service to
the District. Director Hemig should be commended for his considerable involvement
and dedication to the TDPUD and our customers. The last twenty years have been
very significant in the history of the TDPUD and Director Hemig has played a lead role
in the success of the TDPUD. A resolution commending Director Ron Hemig is
included as Attachment 1.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact with this matter.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution 2014-25 and award a plaque to recognize Ron Hemig for his term on
the Truckee Donner PUD Board from 1994 to 2014.

Commending Ron Hemig for His Service on the Board of Directors
WHEREAS, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District is a customer owned public utility organized
as a Special District under the laws of the state of California, and
WHEREAS, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, establishe',i', 1627, provides electric and
water utility services to the community of Truckee, and
