HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-10-14 Agenda Packet - Board (18) October 8, 2003 Scott Saibini 2150 Eva Adams Drive Reno, NV 89509 Scott, About six weeks ago Neil Kauffman came to my door at cabin 36 at Donner Lake and asked to go over the water connection fees. We walked up the hill in front of the McCherry cabin and he showed me where the meter was to be installed. He asked if I could approve a $200.00 charge for the connection. I a eed. Then last week my father, Les Turner, told me he had received a bill for $3 .00 and had called Neil to see if this was correct. He was told that it was and my Dad sent off a check that day. Now it appears that we were overcharged. Can you help us on this? Regards, Larry Turner 13861 Garden Bar Road Grass Valley, CA 95949 916-765-3312 Donner address: 14161 Tanager October 13, 2003 Mr Scott Sabini 2150 Eva Adams Drive Reno, Nevada$950 Dear Scott, The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the conversations that I had with Mr Neil Kaufman of the Truckee Donner ,P.U.D. regarding the price structure he gave me for the water connection to my property at 14166 Tanager Lane Donner Lake, California. On Wednesday June 4, 2003 1 met with Mr. Kaufman to review, the installation of our water lines.. I had asked him if he could give me a'ballpark"amount for my cost of the installation. He stated that it would be approximately $40.00 per foot with Truckee Donner P.U.D, paying$20,00 a foot of that cost and t would split the remaining part with my neighbor which would make my cost approximately $10.00 a foot for my potion. On June 16 2003, 1 again talked to Mr, Neil Kaufman and at that time he stated that he did not say the above quote and my cost would be$43.00 a foot. After bickering with Truckee Donner P.U.D., I mart with you stating that the fees were not fair because SouthWest Gas was digging a common trench at no cost. Therefore, i felt that there should be some kind of reduction In the cost. You then met with the Truckee Donner P.U.D.and came back to me stating that we would be charged$13.00 a foot less, It seems to me that when this project started we should have been given a concrete cost in black and white so there would not be so many misunderstandings, I have heard so many hearsays that I don't know what to believe. My total cost for this water installation is $2,180.00 which i feel is unreasonable. Thank you for your support in this matter.
