Utility District
Staff Report
To: Board of Directors
From: Peter Holzmeister
Date: April 30, 2004
Subject: Call for election
Why this matter is before the board: This matter involves adoption of a resolution
calling for elections. Only the board is authorized to adopt such a resolution
History: The terms of Directors Aguera, Maass and Van Gundy expire in December of
this year. We need to schedule an election to be held on November 2, 2004. We
historically adopt a resolution requesting that Placer and Nevada Counties conduct our
election in conjunction with the general election.
New information: Attached is a draft resolution for your review and adoption. It is
exactly like the resolutions we have adopted in the past. It asks Nevada and Placer
County Clerks to conduct our election and commits us to pay our share of the cost.
Recommendation: I recommend that the board adopt the resolution calling for the
election and requesting the Clerks of Nevada and Placer Counties to conduct the
election.
