Property adjacent to Donner Lake Substation, Possible acquisition for future.
Why this matter is before the Board — This matter concerns the District
purchasing a piece of property for future plans to increase Donner Lake
Substation.
History-We have talked to the Board about this before. The District has a long
term capital improvement plan that includes increasing the capacity of Donner
Lake Substation. In order to increase the capacity, the substation will probably
need to be increased insize. Donner Lake Substation is on a very small piece of
property (see attached map). We investigated the parcel availability near our
existing parcel and found that the owner of 15434 Cedar Point Dr. was willing to
discuss selling his parcel.
New Information — The District and owner of the parcel have come to a
tentative agreement for the District to purchase the parcel. I informed the owner
(Ron and Judith Mason) that I would inform the Board of the current status at
this Board meeting. Attached is a "Vacant Land Purchase Agreement" signed by
the Mason's for consideration. The District can use facility fees on hand to
purchase this property.
Recommendation — I recommend the Board approve the "Vacant Land
Purchase Agreement" for the purchase of parcel 17-480-02, 15434 Cedar Point
Drive as presented and instruct staff to follow through with the purchase of the
property.
