HomeMy WebLinkAbout4 Donner Lake Water Storage Tanks CEQA Agenda Item # Memorandum To: Board of Directors From: Steve Hollabaugh Date: May 27, 2005 Subject: Public hearing — Donner Lake water storage tanks CEQA Why this matter is before the board: This matter is a public hearing scheduled by the board of directors to receive public input regarding an Initial Environmental Study and proposed Negative Declaration for construction of new Donner Lake water storage tank. History: This matter was discussed at the board meeting on May 4. The project is necessary to complete the comprehensive rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Donner Lake Water System. The water system currently has inadequate storage capacity and the proposed storage tank will address this deficiency. The board authorized Inland Ecosystems to conduct the environmental review of the site. An Initial Environmental Study and proposed Negative Declaration has been prepared and circulated to the appropriate agencies. This public hearing was advertised in compliance with law. New information: At this point, the thirty day comment period is in progress. This public hearing is part of the public comment process. There is no need to take action on the documents at this time since the thirty- day comment period will not have been completed.
