HomeMy WebLinkAboutWater Activities Report TDPUD Monthly Activity Report 4-21-99 To: Board of Directors From: Ed Taylor, Water Superintendent Subject: Water Department Monthly Activities Report for March 1999 Agenda # 11 PERSONNEL We completed the recruitment for a Water System Engineer. Dan Mattson of Seattle Washington was selected and has accepted the position. PROJECTS The bid was awarded for new pumps for the upgrade of Northwoods, Donner Trails, and Soma Sierra pump stations. Staff has been identifying and reviewing property for the new Martis Valley well site. Staff has worked with a consultant for a proposal for a pipeline in the new Glenshire Drive bridge. WATER QUALITY We have monitored the Hirschdale treatment plant on a daily basis and the aesthetic quality of the water has been excellent all month. Preventative maintenance on equipment was performed. Water samples were taken each week during the month. Routine daily rounds were made, taking chlorine residuals throughout the system. The monthly bacteriological report for January and February were sent to the Department of Health Services. The District met the State's drinking water standards for the months of January and February. SYSTEM OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE Repairs were made to pumps at Pinnacle, Ski Lodge, Stockholm and Airport Booster Pump Stations. New roofs were installed at Ski Run, Ski Lodge, Stockholm, and Pinnacle Pump Stations. Staff was doing the preparatory work for the pump station upgrade project. Snow removal for access to facilities was an ongoing task. Activities were focused on facilities maintenance due to winter conditions. Nine leaks were repaired Three fire hydrants were repaired.
