Agenda Item # 6 Public �. ,R Memorandum To: Board of Directors From: Alan Harry Date: April 18, 2007 Subject: Purchase of 2007 District Equipment - Forklift Why this matter is before the board It is the policy of the District that bids for purchase of vehicles are presented to the board for action. History During deliberations on the 2007 budget, we discussed the need to purchase a new 3- Wheeled electric fork lift for use in the District's warehouse. The budget as adopted by the board allocated $30,000 for this purchase. Support Services staff, Chris Brouwers, Mike Kennedy and I, prepared the necessary specifications. New Information On March 29, 2007 bids for these vehicles were opened. A total of six bids were received from four vendors, five of which met or exceeded the District's bid specifications. Attached please find a spreadsheet comparing the six bids received. Per the attached comparison, the bid submitted by Teampower, Daewoo model "DOOSAN B20T' in the amount of $24,671 ($26,706.37 w/tax), is the lowest complete bid and $3,293.64 below that budgeted. Recommendation Award the bid as stated above to Teampower in the amount of$26,706.37.
