HomeMy WebLinkAbout5 Alder Drive Pump CEQA Agenda Item # Public Utility District Public Hearing To: Board of Directors From: Peter Holzmeister Date: March 2, 2007 Subject: Public hearing on Alder Drive Pump Station CEQA Why this matter is before the Board: This matter involves continuing a public hearing to receive written and oral input from members of the public regarding adoption of an environmental study and negative declaration for the proposed Alder Drive Pump Station Project. History: Neil Kaufman made a presentation to the Board regarding the need to construct a new pump station at Alder Drive to help move water into the Prosser Heights subdivision. He described a problem we are having in water production at the Prosser Heights Annex well. He also described a new water pipeline that is proposed to move water into the Prosser Heights area to meet demands. This new pump station will help solve the immediate problem caused by problems at the failing well, and be available to move water into the subdivision once the new pipeline is constructed. He presented the Initial Environmental Study and draft Negative Declaration. The Board authorized circulation of those documents and held a public hearing on February 7. The public hearing for the Alder Drive Pump Station environmental review has been extended due to the fact that the State Clearing house lost the District's original submission to them. New information: The public hearing has been noticed as required by law. At the conclusion of the public hearing you are not yet ready to consider adopting the documents because the thirty day comment period has not yet expired. Recommendation: No action is required.
