Subject: Consideration of an agreement with Sierra College regarding
construction of a pipeline extension
1. Why this matter is before the board:
Board Authorization is required for expenditures in excess of $15,000.
2. History:
There is a 10" steel pipeline that crosses Dons restaurant. Th s pipe was

occurs at PC-1, Donner Lake and Tahoe Donner, additional piping is needed to convey water to this
area. The need for this 12" pipe was documented in the Water System Master Plan and is shown on
Figures 7-8 and 8-1 of that document. The 12" pipe is not needed by the College, but is needed by
the District. Therefore, it is the District's responsibility to pay for installation of this pipe.
The total cost to the Water Department for this piping is estimated at $200,000. The 12" pipe down
the hill and across State Route 89 would be paid by Facility Fees. The Donner Creek crossing would
be paid by rate monies. The college is currently advertising for bids and the bid opening is scheduled
for the middle of March. Once the bids are opened and the low bidder is determined, I will be able to
provide a firm cost to the Board
4. Recommendation:
There is no recommendation at this time. Once the bids are opened and a final cost is
determined, I will return to the Boarwill construct and rthe piping end that ndrthe District wilict enter into al pa agree
