Gross, District Counsel SUBJECT: Consideration for Approval of Amendment No. 1 to the Interim General Manager Employment Agreement with Brian Wright APPROVED BY______________________________ Steven C. Gross, District Counsel RECOMMENDATION: Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Employment Agreement with Brian C. Wright for the Interim General Manager (IGM) position in substantially the form presented with this report, extending the term through July 2, 2021, and authorize the Board President to execute it. BACKGROUND: On November 18, 2020 the Board of Directors unanimously appointed Brian Wright as Interim General Manager. Thereafter, the District and IGM Wright entered into an Employment Agreement as of January 8, 2021. The Employment Agreement will, by its own terms, terminate on May 31, 2021. The Board of Directors is in the process of hiring a new General Manager. It is anticipated that an employment agreement with the new General Manager will be effective on July 2, 2021. Mr. Wright has indicated his willingness to continue to serve as the Interim General Manager through that date. It is necessary to amend the Employment Agreement to extend its term through July 2, 2021. The Attached Amendment No. 1 to Interim General Manager Employment Agreement will so extend the term of the Agreement. The Amendment does not change any other term or condition of the Agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: Sufficient funds exist in the FY21 budget. ATTACHMENTS: Attachment 1: Amendment #1 to the Interim General Manager’s Employment Agreement
