Subject: Consideration of an Award of a Contract for Traffic Control Services
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Board approval is required for procurements in excess of $15,000.
2. HISTORY
The Electric Department requires periodic traffic control services for construction and
maintenance projects along certain thoroughfares in the District's service territory.
Temporary lane closure and lane shifting will be required for the following projects.
• Northwoods Blvd. Rebuild - Phase 1: Northwoods Blvd. from Donner Pass
Road to Lamplighter Way (replace poles and re -conductor 26 spans)
• Alder Creek Drive Rebuild: Alder Creek Drive from Fjord to Wolfgang Way
(replace 15 poles)
• Glenshire Drive Underground Extension: install underground cable
approximately 1 3/4 Miles to the Glenshire subdivision
3. NEW INFORMATION
On May 27, 2015 the District publicly advertised a request for proposals for traffic
control services. Sealed proposals were due on June 3, 2015. The District received
two proposals; Road Safety Services and Traffic Management Inc.
Staff has reviewed the submitted proposals and has determined Road Safety Services
to be responsive and in compliance with all District specifications. An overview of the
cost proposal is provided below:

4. FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds for the cost of traffic control services are available in the Board
approved FY15 Electric Operations Budget,
5. RECOMMENDATION
Award the traffic control services bid to Road Safety Services and authorize the
General Manager to enter into a contract for an amount not to exceed $60,000,
