Customer Service Training

1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
District code requires all procurements in excess of $15,000 be approved by the
Board.
2. HISTORY
The District is committed to retain quality employees and provide excellent customer
service.
Through the later part of last year, the District embarked on a management leadership
opportunity and hired Workforce Equanimity to conduct a leadership seminar with
District managers. This was focused on motivational work environments, developing
employees using their interest and strengths, streamlining communication through the
management team, and leadership into the future.
District staff completed that education in the last quarter of last year.
3. NEW INFORMATION
In the first quarter of this year, the Administrative Services team requested team
training geared toward providing excellent customer service and also to assist with
change management for successful integration of the Conservation department.
This training will assist staff in focusing strengths and identifying personnel workplace
styles which will allow the department to organize to be most effective, efficient, all
with a key focus on customer service. This is a key component to the success of the
integration.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds exist within the approved FY16 general fund.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the General Manager to retain
purchases for professional services related
training opportunities.
