Subject: Consideration of a Contract for Traffic Control Services
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Board approval is required for procurements in excess of $15,000.
2. HISTORY
The Electric &Water Departments require periodic traffic control services for new
construction and maintenance projects along thoroughfares in the District's service
territory. Temporary lane closures and lane shifting will be required throughout the
year.
3. NEW INFORMATION
On October 26, 2016, the District publicly advertised a request for proposals for traffic
control services. Sealed proposals were due on November 18, 2016. No proposals
were received.
Staff then negotiated with Road Safety Services, who is last years provider. An
overview of the negotiated price is provided below:

Hourly Rates include labor and daily setup and removal

4. FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds for the cost of traffic control services are available in the Board
approved FY17 Electric and Water Operations Budget,
5. RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the General Manager to
