Every two years, director position elections take place during the November General
Election. The District is required to submit resolutions to consolidate the District's
election with Placer and Nevada Counties. The resolutions are very routine in nature,
with the only changes being those Directors whose terms will expire.
3. NEW INFORMATION
On November 6, 2018 two Director's seats will be up for election including:
• Tony Laliotis and
• Paul Warmerdam.
The District must submit paperwork to Nevada County by July 5, 2018 and Placer
County by July 3, 2018. Candidate filing begins July 16, 2018 and regular candidate
filing ends August 10, 2018. This period is extended if an incumbent chooses to not
file, making the close of regular candidate filing August 15, 2018.
Attachment 1 is resolution 2018-08 requesting consolidated elections with Nevada
County Elections and Attachment 2 is resolution 2018-09 requesting consolidated
election with Placer County,
4. FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds exist in the FY18 Budget for election expenses.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Approve the resolutions to conduct and consolidate the District's November 2018
election:
1) Resolution 2018-08 Calling a General District Election (Nevada County).
2) Resolution 2018-09 Notice of Governing Board Member Election and/or Notice to
Submit Measure(s) to a Vote of the Voters (Placer County).

CALLING GENERAL DISTRICT ELECTION
WHEREAS, an election will be held within the Truckee Donner Public Utility District on
November 6, 2018 for the purpose of electing two members to the District Board of
Directors; and
WHEREAS, whenever two or more elections are called to be held on the same day, in the
same territory, or in part of the same territory, such elections should be consolidated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that an election be held on November 6, 2018 for
the purpose of electing two members to the District Board of Directors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Truckee Donner Public Utility District requests the
governing body of the County of Nevada, as prescribed by Elections Code Section 10402
and 10403 to consolidate the regularly scheduled district election with any other elections to
be held on November 6, 2018; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Candidate is to pay for the publication of the
candidate's statement, pursuant to Elections Code Section 13307. The limitation on the
number of words that a candidate may use in his/her Candidate's Statement is 200 words;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Truckee Donner Public Utility District agrees to
reimburse the County of Nevada for the District's prorated share of the costs of the election.

Truckee Donner Public Utility District
Notice is hereby given that a General District Election will be held in this district on
November 6, 2018. There are two elective offices to be filled at that election for which
candidates may be nominated, and the titles of the election to those offices are for four year
terms as follows:

The Policy of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District with respect to payment of the costs
of printing Candidates Statement of Qualification that appear in the Voter Infor4mation
Guide is as follows:
X The candidate will pay the cost. If the candidate is to pay the cost, the County Clerk
is authorized to require payment in advance and to determine the cost of printing, handling,
and mailing the Candidate's Statement of Qualifications.
The county Clerk is authorized to administer the oath or affirmation which is
incorporated in the nomination documents as required by Elections Code Section 10512.
Enclosed is a copy of a map of the district boundary lines in compliance with
Elections Code Section 10522.

NOTICE TO SUBMIT MEASURE(S) TO A VOTE OF THE VOTERS
RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF
Truckee Donner Public Utility District
DECLARING AN ELECTION BE HELD IN ITS JURISDICTION;
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONSOLIDATE THIS ELECTION
WITH ANY OTHER ELECTION CONDUCTED ON SAID DATE; AND
REQUESTING ELECTION SERVICES BY THE COUNTY CLERK
WHEREAS, Truckee Donner Public Utility District Governing Body orders an election to be held in its
jurisdiction on November 8, 2016; at which election the issue(s) to be presented to the voters shall be:
NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES FOR THE GOVERNING BODY
1. Said election shall be to fill a vacancy for the following Board Members) who resigned
and/or whose term(s) expired:

There are no divisions in the District; all voters within the District vote for all candidates.

3. Said District has determined the following election particulars:

• The cost of the Candidate Statement shall be paid by the Candidate.

understands that the Placer County Public Works Mapping Division will verify our District

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Placer is hereby requested to:
1. Consolidate the election with any other applicable election conducted on the same day.
2. Authorize and direct the County Clerk, at Governing Body expense, to provide all necessary
election services.
This Resolution shall be considered a Notice of Election and Specification of Election Order if
applicable.
