HomeMy WebLinkAbout8 2019 Electric System Master PlanAqendaItem#8,TRUCKEEDONNERPublicUtilityDistrictWORKSHOPTo:BoardofDirectorsFrom:SannaSchiosserDate:November20,2019Subject:2019ElectricSystemMasterPlanPresentation1.WHYTHISMATTERISBEFORETHEBOARDThisinformationalitemisbeforetheBoardtopresentanoverviewofthe2019ElectricSystemMasterPlanReport.2.HISTORYTheElectricSystemMasterPlanReportisacomprehensiveplanningreportprovidinginformationonexistingDistrictelectricfacilitiesandthecurrentlevelofserviceprovidedtoDistrictcustomers.Italsoservesasablueprintforelectricsystemupgradestoaccommodategrowthanddevelopmnet.DistrictCodesspecifiesthattheElectricSystemMasterPlanStudyshallbeupdatedevery5yearsandthelastrevisionwascompletedin2014.TheBoardawardedthisprojectcontracttoElectricalConsultantsIncorporated(ECI)attheNovember7,2018Boardmeeting.3.NEWINFORMATIONThefinaldraftoftheMasterPlanreportnarrativeisincludedintheBoardpacketforyourreview.Mr.RobertHurtig,Manager-PlanningandSystemStudiesatECI,willpresentanoverviewandsummaryoftheentirereportattheBoardmeeting.Significantchangessincethepreviousreportincludedsystemupdatescompletedsince2014andincreasedannualallocationsfortheopticalcableinstalltionassociatedwithSCADAcommunicationprojects.Severalprojectsfromthepreviousplanwhichhavenotbeencompletedareincludedinthecurrentplan.Thenextstepsassociatedwiththisprojectinclude:-CompletionofCEQAInitialStudy,November2019-PresentationoftheCEQAInitialStudy,January2020-PublicHearingfortheInitialCEQAStudy,JanuaryorFebruary2020-AdoptionoftheFinalCEQADoocumentandMasterPlanFebruaryorMarch20204.FISCALIMPACTThereisnofiscalimpactimpactassociatedwiththisWorkshopItem.5.RECOMMENDATIONProvideinputanddirectiontostaff.
