Home My WebLink About15 Change Order Allowance for Admin Upstiars RemodelAgendaItem#15TRUCKEEDONNERPublicUtilityDistrictCONSENTTo:BoardofDirectorsFrom:Shanna0.Kuhlemier,CMCDate:December04,2019Subject:ConsiderationofanAdditionalChangeOrderAllowancefortheDistrictAdministrationBuilding2019UpstairsRemodelProject1.WHYTHISMATTERISBEFORETHEBOARDBoardactionisrequiredforexpendituresinexcessof$15,000.2.HISTORYOnOctober16,2019,theBoardapprovedtheDistrictAdministrationBuilding2019UpstairsRemodelProjectwithTreehengeConstruction.ThisremodelcontinuestheupgradesontheDistrictfacilitiestoensureefficienciesintheareaofenergy,staffing,operations,andassetlongevity.3.NEWINFORMATIONTheRemodelhasbeenmovingalongquiterapidly.Todate,alldemolitionhasbeencompleted,theofficesandcommandcenterareframedin,tapeandtextured,electrical,andcabnetryisbeinginstalled.Thereisalwaysaconcernregardingchangeordersinaproject.It’sa30yearoldbuilding“whoknowswhatwillbefound”.Todatetherehavebeensevenchangesorders.Districtinitiatedchangeordersincludedathirdoffice,includinganextraairconditioningunit,andadditionalITandelectricalcomponentsfortheElectricOperationsarea.Someminorchangeordersforplumbinghavebeenrequiredandachangeinbacksplash.Astheworkhasprogressed,staffandthecontractorranaccrossadescrepencyintheplansforcarpeting.Theplansommittedportionsoftheupstairsareafornewcarpet.InstallingcarpetthroughouttheWesternportionofthebuildingwasenvisionedintheapprovedwork.Thecontractorhasestimatedthischangeorderintheamountof$11,428.Withthecontractoronsiteandsimilarworkinotherareas,thischangeorderisappropriate.Onasidenote,theprojectisnotonlyrunningontimebutaheadofschedule.TreehendgeConstructionisanticipatingcompletionbythefirstoftheyear.Staffand thecontractordonotanticipateanyfurtherchangeordersintheproject.4.FISCALIMPACTSufficientfundsarebudgetedwithintheBoardadoptedElectricUtilityFYi9budget.5.RECOMMENDATIONAuthorizeanadditionalchangeorderallowancefortheDistrictAdministrationBuilding2019UpstairsRemodelProjecttoTreehengeConstruction,foradditionalworktobecompletedintheamountof$11,428foranewcontractnottoexceedamountof$365,353._Ogi;:ShannaD.Kuhlemier,CMCMichaelD.HolleyDistrictClerkGeneralManager
