F Public Utility District
Memorandum
To: Board of Directors
From: Stephen Hollabaugh
Date: October 13, 2006
Subject: Abandonment of Public Utility Easement at Prosser Dam Rd near the PT&T
Repeater Station Property—ORNC 83-33050
1- Why this matter is before the board:
Board Authorization is required to abandon an easement.
2. History:
There is an existing easement for electric power distribution and transmission lines near Prosser
Dam Rd and the PT&T Repeater Station project described more particularly per document No.
83-33050, Official Records of Nevada County. The location of the existing easement is shown
on the attached Exhibit B. The Developer has included in their project an underground service
to the PT&T Repeater station that will make the overhead line unnecessary. Staff agreed that
abandonment of the easement would be appropriate.
3. New information:
The Gray's Crossing development has included in their project, an underground service to the PT&T
Repeater Station. District crews have installed this service and removed the old overhead line that
used to serve the PT&T site. A new easement for the underground service will be granted as a part
of the Grays Crossing Phase 3 final map. The easement that the old overhead line was on is no
longer necessary. Therefore, abandonment of the old easement for the overhead line will not impact
the District.
4. Recommendation:
The Board of Directors adopt a resolution officially abandoning the existing utility easement
described by ORNC 83-33050.
