Please read this into the public comment section of the Board Meeting item #8 Strategi c Plan As written: Since 1980, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District has sought alternative energy sources and pursued hydroelectric plants at Boca and Stampeded dams and joining Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS) to secure the Public Power Model. Additional History: Since 1980, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) has sought alternative energy sources. In the early 1980’s TDPUD received a hydro allocation from the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). This generation was unable to be delivered due to denial of transmission access from Sierra Pacific Power Company (SPPC). TDPUD remained a full re- quirements customer of SPPC and received all its generation from SPPC. TDPUD joined the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA) in 1989 to try to attain transmission access. TDPUD finally attained transmission access in 1997 and was finally able purchase their own generation. On September 20, 2000, Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS) approved Truckee Donner PUD as a participant in the Pool Project and as a UAMPS mem- ber. Since 2000, Truckee Donner PUD has sought a variety of energy sources including al- ternative energy sources.
