TRUCKEE DONNER
Public Utility District
Authorizing the General Manager as the District's Agent for the
Governor's Office of Emergency Services
WHEREAS, January 23, 2017 California Governor Edmund G. Brown declared CIO a lu of emergency
beginning January 3rd, in counties across California following severe winter storms to secure funding to
help communities respond to and recover from severe winter storms under all applicable laws; and
WHEREAS, Placer County, Nevada County and the Town of Truckee also issued declarations of local
emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the extreme winter weather resulted in customer interruptions which required extensive and
extraordinary repairs to the District's distribution system, including removal of trees and repairs to
damaged lines; and
WHEREAS, the damage was severe and extensive, which required the District to initiate a mutual aid
request to solicit support from other electric utilities. Mutual Aid increased the District's staffing, added
additional equipment, and supplies for repairs through the emergency periods; and
WHEREAS, the emergency also required that the District contract with an additional emergency tree
removal company to remove hazards in the area; and
WHEREAS, the California State Office of Emergency Services requires a designation of applicant's
agent resolution for non -state agencies to be on file in order to be eligible to apply for recovery under all
applicable laws; and
WHEREAS, the Board needs to designate an agent to execute for and on behalf of Truckee Donner
Public Utility District, and such agent shall be responsible to provide the Governor's Office of Emergency
Services with all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance, including any assurances,
agreements, and ancillary agreements required.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE TRUCKEE=DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY
DISTRICT DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
The Board of Directors designates the General Manager as the authorized agent for the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District to provide the Governor's Office of Emergency Services with all matters pertaining to
such state disaster assistance, including any assurances, agreements and ancillary agreements
required.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held within the District
on the first day of March, 2017 by the following roll call vote:
