History The District's Donner Pass Road facility has been cleaned by a professional janitorial service for over ten years. Recently our contract with Dependable Cleaning Service ended. As such staff prepared the attached request fro proposals, RFP, for janitorial service. This RFP was sent to five local companies, and advertised in the local paper, with the deadline for proposal submission being October 27"' at 11:OOAM. New Information At the close of the RFP's deadline, of the five companies contacted three submitted complete proposals; A Better Clean, Blue Sky Home Center, and Dependable Cleaning Service. Blue Sky Home Center submitted the lowest proposal at $52,000 annually, well within the amount budgeted for this service. Below are all of the proposed costs submitted to the District. The term of the Janitorial Services contract will be two (2)years. The attached sheet entitled Insurance and Indemnification Requirements indicates the insurance and indemnification that the District will require of the selected contractor. Such work shall include: Sunday—Tuesday - Thursday Vacuum and Mop all entryways Clean all bathrooms Clean all Kitchens, floors and countertops Stock all bathrooms and kitchens with necessary paper products Dust all desks Clean all file cabinets and book case surfaces Clean all Glass Doors Empty and clean garbage cans in all areas Monthly Clean soiled areas on office doors Quarterly Shampoo Carpets Pressure wash employee hallway Clean faces of all kitchen appliances Bi-Annually Strip and wax large kitchen Clean all windows Annually Clean all window blinds Insurance and Indemnification Requirements Contractor, at his or her own cost and expense, shall procure and maintain during the term of this agreement, a surety bond in a form satisfactory to the District, in a sum not less than the contract price, to guarantee faithful performance of all of Contractor's obligations as set forth herein, and to secure payment to its subcontractors, and all other persons performing labor or providing material, including the rental of equipment, relating to the project as provided herein. Contractor shall procure and shall maintain during the life of the contract, Workers' Compensation Insurance for all of his or her employees to be engaged in work. Contractor shall furnish satisfactory proof, by certificate presented to the District within fifteen days of the date of the contract, that he or she has public liability and property damage insurance. a) Limit of liability for personal injury or accidental death - one person, $1,000,000; aggregate liability per accident, $1,000,000. b) Limit of liability for property damage - $1,000,000 aggregate liability for loss per accident.
