Subject: Consideration of a Resolution to Commend Robert Mescher for His
Years of Service
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
2. HISTORY
Bob Mescher has served the District for over eight years. He was hired on November
5, 2007 as the Finance and Accounting Manager and was promoted to the Interim
Administrative Services Manager in January 2011 and appointed to the permanent
position in August 2011.
He has been successful in his management of the District finances by addressing
short-term and long-term goals of the District. He recommended and carried out the
refinancing of the bonds issued for Old Greenwood. He was also instrumental in the
bi-annual budget process, annual District audit of the financial statements and also
worked with management to create a financial strategy for the water metering project.
Staff describes him as supportive and professional with a calm demeanor. Staff
recognizes that he is always available to discuss challenging issues in a composed
and confident manner. They appreciate his reassurance and confidence in them to get
the job done.
3. NEW INFORMATION
Bob and his wife, Lisa, will be moving to southern California to be closer to their kids
and grandkids. Bob has accepted a position with the City of Avalon on Santa Catalina
Island.
Attached is the resolution 2015-15 Commending Robert Mescher for his years of
service.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Recommend recognizing Robert "Bob" Mesher for his many years of service to the
District.
