Subject: Consideration of Purchasing Tires From Stone's Tire
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Board approves expenditures over $15,000.

2. HISTORY
The District currently has many vehicles and pieces of equipment, which requires
maintenance and tire replacement. This means that the District has over 400 tires on
the ground.
The District requests quotes for tiress before purchasing. Heavy truck tires are
typically purchased through the Nevada State Bid, while Stone's Tire of Truckee, has
had lower pricing for all other fleet vehicle tires.
In the past three years the District has spent an average of around $14,000 with
Stone's Tire. Depending of the wear and need for fleet tire replacement, some years
have been $8,000 where some years were $20,000. This year we have already spent
nearly $13,000, and have not begun the winter tire swap that some District vehicles
require.
3. NEW INFORMATION
It is anticipated that with any additional tire replacement and the yearly winter tire
swap, the District will likely exceed the $15,000 spending limit with Stone's Tire of
Truckee.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The District' annual procurement is above the authorized spending limit of the General
Manager and requires Board approval.
The total expenditure with this vendor is estimated to be less than$24,000.
Sufficient funds exist in the FY15 Water and Electrict Budget for this action.
