Subject: Consideration of Resolution 2015-25 to Commend Michael Kennedy
for His Many Years of Service
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
This matter involves adoption of Resolution 2015-25 commending Michael Kennedy
for his many years of service to the District on the occasion of his retirement.
2. HISTORY
Michael Kennedy has served the District for more than 23 years. Michael began his
career with the District in 1991 as a Temporary Water Helper and was hired
permanently as a Water Serviceman on March 18, 1992. As a Water Serviceman,
Michael participated in many projects, including water main leak repairs, water
distribution system maintenance and reapair projects, and was the District's pipeline
construction inspector for the Truckee Downtown Pipeline Replacement Project.
In 2004, Michael accepted a position in the warehouse and helped manage the
District's inventory for 7 years. In 2011, Michael returned to the water utility crew,
serving as a Water Service Technician with the Water Operations Crew, eventually
being promoted to Water Operations Leadman in 2015.
3. NEW INFORMATION
Michael has announced his retirment from the District to be affective December 30,
2015. During his more than 23 years of service Michael has been an integral part of
the District's water utility and support services. He is respected by his coworkers for
his contribuitions to the Truckee community and the role he has played on the water
utility crew.
On behalf of the District and the community, we thank Michael for his years of service
and wish he, his wife Myra, and their family the very best in their future endeavors.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this agenda item.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the Resolution 2015-25 recognizing Mike Kennedy for his many years of
service.

Resolution No. 2015-25
Commending Michael Kennedy for His Professionalism and Dedication
WHEREAS Michael Kennedy has been an employee of this District since March 18, 1992; and
WHEREAS, during his more than twenty-three years of employment at the District, Michael has
demonstrated a superior work ethic, pride in doing a job completely and dedication of service to the
community; and
WHERAS, Michael has successfully held the positions of Water Helper, Water Service Technician,
Warehouse/Utility Worker, and most recently as Water Operations Leadman; and
WHEREAS, Michael progressed through each of the positions within the District's water utility,
continuously building upon his experience and expanding his knowledge in all aspects of water utility
operations; and
WHEREAS, Michael has been a highly respected member of the Water Utility Crew, an active member
of the Truckee community and has been valued by the District's management team throughout his
career; and
WHEREAS, Michael's ethical behavior has established a standard that will guide District staff for years to
come; and
WHEREAS, Michael has contributed to the success of the District in many ways; and
WHEREAS, Michael has earned the admiration of his fellow employees and of this Board; and
WHEREAS, Michael has announced his retirement to be effective on December 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude for the performance
of Michael Kennedy and for his many years of service to the District and our customers.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE DISTRICT THAT:
• Michael and Myra Kennedy have the best of luck and happiness in their retirement; and
• Michael Kennedy be commended for his invaluable contribution to the success of the Truckee
Donner PUD, for his work ethic which stands as a model for others to emulate and for the
friendship we continue to share with him.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held within the District
on the ninth day of December by the following roll call vote:
