Subject: Consideration of a Resolution to Commend Nancy Waters for her
Many Years of Service
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
This matter involves adoption of a resolution recognizing Nancy Waters for her many
years of service to the District on the occasion of her retirement.
2. HISTORY
Nancy (Jones) Waters was hired by the District August 31, 1977 as a general clerk at
$4.09 per hour. Her dedication during the 27 years she was employed at the District
lead her to be promoted many times throughout her career to Senior Clerk, Leao
Customer Billing Clerk, Accounting Clerk, and Accounting/Computer Operations
Supervisor. She was instrumental in identifying the needs of the organization to create
the Human Resources Department where she served as the Human Resources
Administrator until her retirement this month. Nancy's colleagues and customers will
best remember her for her dedication, professionalism and kindness.
3. NEW INFORMATION
Nancy announced her retirement to be effective on January 31, 2013. She has had a
long and rewarding career and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Attachment 1 is the draft resolution commending Nancy for her service to the District
and its customers.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this agenda item.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the resolution recognizing Nancy Waters for her many years of service.
