Subject: Discussion of the District Pipeline Replacement — 2013 Project
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
This item is informational. The Water Department intends to construct the Districl
Pipeline Replacement - 2013 Project during the Summer of 2013.
2. HISTORY
The District's last pipeline replacement project occurred in 2010. Since that time,
there have been a number of pipeline segments where it has been necessary to
perform repeated repairs.
3. NEW INFORMATION
The planned construction for 2013 entails about 2,300 feet of main line pipe located at
five separate locations in Tahoe Donner. These locations are shown on the map
included as Attachment 1.
Due to the uncertain bidding climate, the documents are structured as a base bid with
one additive alternate. This bidding structure allows the District greater flexibility in
matching the cost of the project to the available funds.
