Background / History
• District's hydropneumatic and booster stations
— Constructed in the 1970s
— At the end of their useful life
— Donner View Hydropneumatic Station was built in 1972
— Provides water for Donner View Hydro Zone
— Also used for communications
• Last pump station replacement was in 2010

New Information
• New pump station construction:
— New block building
— Undergrounding of the overhead electric service
— Majority of the construction work performed by District labor
— Block building work and roofing system by contract labor
— Dedicated space for communications equipment
• New pumping system
— Incorporate variable frequency drive (VFD) units
— Utilize high efficiency pumps and motors
— Provide increased fire flow

• Project and planning schedule:
— Project design - March, 2013
— Advertise for bids - April, 2013
— Award bid - May, 2013
— Begin construction - May, 2013
— Complete project - Spring, 2014
• Old station to remain during construction
— Will be demolished after cut over
Fiscal Impact
• Project not included in FY13 budget approved by Board
• Proposed funding sources
— Water Department Capital Replacement Fund
— Conservation Department Wire to Water
— Sufficient funds exist in both these accounts
• $325,000 is the estimated cost for the project
