Subject: Extension of LAFCo District Member Election Ballot Deadline

As you know, LAFCo is conducting an election on behalf of the special districts to

fill position of the Regular LAFCo District Member that expires this year. We
issued a call for nominations on February 16, 2012, and then distributed a ballot to
all districts listing the nominated candidates on March 29, 2012. The process then

involves districts returning their marked original ballots, which will be tallied by

BALLOTS to 5:00 p.m. May 31, 2012.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but this extension will insure fairness to all
Districts. To avoid this type of situation in the future, and as a cost -saving

measure, LAFCo is considering the implementation of an electronic ballot process
