HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 8104J I \ ORDINANCE NO. 8104 of the TRUCKEE DON'NER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT ESTABLISHING FIRE HYDRANT MAINTENANCE FEES APPLICABLE TO FISCAL YEAR 1981 WHEREAS, the Truckee Fire Protection District has historically provided routine maintenance, repair and replacement of the approximately 1,000 fire hydrants connected to the Truckee Donner Public Utility District water distribution system, and WHEREAS, the Truckee Fire Protection District was, prior to the passage of a recent State law, financed by ad valorem property tax assess- ments collected by Nevada County; and WHEREAS, a recent State law provides that local fire protection districts may transfer the obligation and cost associated with fire hydrant maintenance and operation to the local water purveyor; and WHEREAS, the Truckee Fire Protection District has, in accordance with recent legislation, duly transferred the obligation and cost associated with fire hydrant maintenance and operation to the Truckee Donnor Public Utility District; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donnor Public Utility District has determined that the continued fire hydrant maintenance, repair and replacement is in the public interest;and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donnor Public Utility District has estimated the cost associated with fire hydrant operation and maintenance and has included said sum in the 1981 fiscal budget; BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District as follows! The Fire Hydrant Maintenance Fee shall be listed as a surcharge on each and every monthly billing rendered by the District at the rates listed below: \ Single Family Homes SO.75 Individual Condominium Unit 0. 75 Townhouse Unit 0.75 Multi Family Units, per living unit 0.75 5/8" Motered Service 0.75 3/4" Metered Service 1.15 1" Metered Service 1.90 1 1/4' Metered Service 2.80 1 1/2" Metered Service 3.75 2" Metered Service 6.00 3" Metered Service 11.25 4" Metered Service 18.75 6' Metered Service 37.50 Any commercial service that is not metered shall be charged at the rate corresponding to the service pipe diameter size as if a meter of that same diameter were installed. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public utility District that a separate accounting of the income derived as a result of this Ordinance shall be maintained and compared against the actual fiscal 1981 cost of operating and maintaining the fire hydrants connected to the Truckee Donner Public Utility District water distribution system. Appro- priate adjustments to this Ordinance shall be accomplished as an integral part of the Fiscal 1982 Budget considerations.
