HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 8112ORDINANCE NO. 8112 OF THE TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT I * RESCINDING ORDINANCES 7401 AND 8007 AND ESTABLISHING NEW DIRECTOR COMPENSATION PROVISIONS WHEREAS, Director compensation provisions have not been updated since the passage of Ordinance No. 7401 on February 5, 1974; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has determined an increase in compensation is warranted because of the sophistication and complexity of the issues which come before the Board routinely, the need for extensive reading, review and re- search on many important issues, and the number of special meetings necessary in order to accomplish District business; and WHEREAS, Directors are not reimbursed for loss of income or revenue resulting from their appearance at legal proceedings on behalf of the District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District as follows: 1. That any and all prior ordinances, amendments or clarifications re- lating to the rate of compensation for members of the Board of Directors of said District shall be set aside and of no further force and effect commensurate with the date upon which this Ordinance becomes effective. 2. That the qualified and acting members of the Board of Directors of the District shall be entitled to receive compensation as follows: (a) At the rate of $100.00 per member, per regularly scheduled meeting provided that attendance for each such meeting is a minimum of 60% of the regularly sched- uled meeting. Closed sessions held as part of the sched- uled meeting will be used in computing the 60% test. The time of adjourned meetings shall not come within the 60l test. In no event shall the compensation per annum ex- ceed that set forth in Section 16002 of the Public Util- ities Code. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 7703, the number of monthly meetings at this time is two. (b) No additional compensation shall be allowed for at- tendance at special meetings, committee meetings, or any other District business except reimbursement for expenses including apoearances at legal proceedings. 3. That the Clerk of the District shall cause this Ordinance to be duly posted and published as required by the laws of the State of California, said posting and publishing to be effective not less than one week before the expiration of thirty days from the date of adoption of this Ordinance. 4. That this Ordinance shall become effective and compensation herein- above set forth shall become applicable from and after the 6th day of August, 1981. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District at a regular meeting thereof duly called and held in the District on the 6th day of July, 1981, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Corbett, Maass and Huber.
