TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
WITH THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF
ELECTRICAL WORKERS, LOCAL 1245
WHEREAS, negotiations have recently been completed between the Truckee
Donner Public Utility District and Local 1245 of the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers, hereinafter referred to as "IBEW"; and
WHEREAS, the District's Special Counsel, John Phelps of Wood, Porter,
Simon & Graham, has presented the proposed agreement for final consideration
by the Board of Directors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee
Donner Public Utility District as follows:
That the Board of Directors does hereby authorize the President
and Clerk to execute the Memorandum of Understanding between the
parties dated March 1, 1982, a copy of which is attached hereto
as Exhibit "A".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all affected employees be paid in accordance
with the terms of the new Memorandum of Understanding as of December 1, 1981,
within five working days of passage of this resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner
Public Utility District at a meeting held within said District on the

Floating Holiday
7.2 Holidays Falling on a Saturday or Sunder: When any of the allowed
holidays fall on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on the preceding
Friday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the lollowinq Monday will be ob-
served.
7.3 Eliyibility: If an employee takes off any of the days observed by the
District as a holiday and is absent without pay and/or authorization on the
work day either immediately preceding or following such day observed by the
District as a holiday, he/she will not receive holiday pay.
7.4 Floating Holidays: Floating holidays may be taken anytime during the -
year by mutual agreement between the employee and management.

JOB VACANCIE
16.1 Notice of Vacancy: When (a) new positions are created: (b) additional
positions are created; (c) temporary positions are reclassified as permanent;
(d) or any vacancy occurs, the District shall notify each employee of the
positions available. Such notice shall set forth the number of vacancies,
the classifications, the job descriptions, the qualifications required, ex-
aminations required, the rate of pay and the closing date for receipt of
applications. Clerical positions shall be po:>ted identifying the Depart-
ment in which the vacancy occurs. Any employee may apply for consideration
in the filling of such vacancies and the District shall accept- for consider-
ation any application received prior to 5:00 P.M. on the closing date. Em-
ployees will have at least forty-eight (48) hours in which to apply. Further,
the District will make a good faith effort to contact vacationing employees or
employees on leave through friends or acquaintances sty that they can make ap-
plications for open positions.
16.2 Consideration: All applicants will bu considered according to the
established qualifications for the classifications involved. The ability
to meet the qualifications for a classification will. be determined by _x--
amination. Such examin,ition may consist of oral or written interview;
oral, written, or practical. test; or any com))inatiun of these. To the
extent feasible, .ill i,- :nt tr t 1-.art ii ail ;r . -, Y will h. Iivfv,
identical examination.

16.3 Employee Apjjointmcut.;: Incumbent employee:: who are tppointud t+.-

16.31 Terminated by E;m,luyec: If tho .tppointutent is termiu.,t
by the employee, the employee may, if qualified, fill the vte.tn,
created by the coincidental prop tiun of another employee or in
the alternative shall be either: (1) returned to his/her previou:
class-;Ificatiun and wage rate provided that a vacancy exists; (2)
transf,_rred to some other classification mutually satisfactory t-
butte the empluyue and the District provided a vacancy exists; or,
(3) laid off with rehire rights as provided for in Section
16.32 Terminated for Unsatisfactoly Performance: If the ,,1,1�_-iiA -
went is terminated because of unsatisfactoty performance, the same
considerations as provided for in subsection lb.31 will apply. In
lieu of layoff, the employee may, if qualified, elect to displaco
a probationary employee in a beginning classification.
16.33 Position Eliminated: If the appointment is--, terminated
because the position is eliminated, the umployeu's status will

TERM UI' AGREEMENT
This Memorandum of Understanding constitutes the sole, Ontire and existing
agreement between the parties. It expresses L11 obl+•;:Lions and Leatric-
tions imposed on each of the resp_ctive parties during the term of the
agreement and supercedes ali prior agrccment:� and undorstondings, express
or implied, betwoou lh� pi:;trict and tin• tn,inn ,,r it. m,.•:F,,.r:. ;I-wever,
the above will not in any manner preclude tlr! meeting .unl conferring on
any issues mutually selected for discussiun by the parties.
Unless otherwise specified, this; Memorandum ,I- Under::t.,uding will be in gull
force and effect from the date of its execution until the expiration of
its terms. The term of this Memorandum of Understanding will expire on
December 31, 1982. Unless changed by written agreement between the parties,
the terms of future Muvk)randums of Understanding shall be from January 1st
through December 31st.

CLASSIFICATIONS AND WAGE RATES*
The use of masculine or feminine genders or

20.1 Current Pay Days: 3rd and 18th of each month unless such day falls
on a non -work day in which case pay day will be on the last work day.
20.2 Employees moving into a classification having a higher wage range than

20.3 Employees moving because of lack of work or health reasons into a class-
