Public Utility District CONSENT To: Board of Directors From: Sanna Schlosser Date: August 21, 2013 Subject: Consideration of a Change Order for Transformer Purchases 1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD Board approval is required for expenditures in excess of $15,000. 2. HISTORY The District has historically awarded an annual purchase agreement for transformers. The Board approved the transformer purchase agreements on December 5, 2012. Single-phase pole mounted transformer contract was awarded to HD Supply Portland with an annual contract value of $30,000. Single-phase pad mounted transformer contract was awarded to HD Supply Portland with an annual contract value of $30,000. The three phase pad mounted transformer to Howard Industries with an annual contract value of $75,000. 3. NEW INFORMATION Construction activities have increased dramatically in the past year resulting in a customer demand for additional transformers and necessitating a subsequent increase in the contract limits. There are no changes to the contract pricing. 4. FISCAL IMPACT Sufficient funds exist in the approved FY13 budget. 5. RECOMMENDATION a) Authorize an increase to the annual contract amount for single-phase pole mounted transformer contract with HD Supply Portland from $30,000 to $60,000 b) Authorize an increase to the annual contract amount for single-phase pad mounted transformer contract with HD Supply Portland from $30,000 to $60,000 c) Authorize an increase to the annual contract amount for three-phase pad mounted transformer contract with Howard Industries from $75,000 to $90,000 *�646�� 111��_ �_, 7- Stephen Hollabaugh Michael D.
