HomeMy WebLinkAbout7, Pipeline - CloseoutConsent Item # 7 Final Completion of the District Pipeline Replacement - 2013 Project October 16, 2013 Background / History • In April 2013, the Board awarded the construction contract for the District Pipeline Replacement— 2013 project to A&K Earthmovers — Construction of about 2,300 feet of water main — Five separate locations in Tahoe Donner • Original bid price was $489,714.22 — 10 percent changer order allowance was established — Total authorization not to exceed $538, 700.00 • In August 2013, the change order allowance was revised — Increased from $48, 985.78 to $75, 000 2 New Information • Construction is complete • 21 change order requests (CORs) were reviewed by staff and approved by the General Manager — CORs total $51,769.34 — Did not exceed revised change order allowance of $75,000 0 New Information • Four general COR categories — Additional Work = $81824.92 — Repair of Water Leaks = $8,708.26 — Differing Field Conditions = $10,820.53 — Subsurface Water = $231415.63 • Two credits to the District — Reconciliation of bid quantities vs. actual constructed quantities — TSD repair of broken sewer lateral 5 Fiscal Impact • Original bid price was $489,714.22 • Final contract price is $518,686.54 a Recommendation • Adopt a resolution accepting the District Pipeline Replacement — 2013 project as complete and authorize the filing of the Notice of Completion 7
