Subject: Consideration for Designation of Labor Negotiators for the General
Manager Contract Renewal
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Only the Board can appoint negotiator(s) for the general manager contract.
2. HISTORY
District Code Section 2.48.010 states:
Performance Evaluations and Salary Adjustments for the General Manager - The
General Manager shall be employed by the Board of Directors at a salary established
by the Board. The Board shall work with the General Manager to set performance
goals and objectives. At least annually, the Board will appraise the General Manager's
performance as described in the General Manager's Employment Agreement with the
District.
The General Manager's anniversary date with the District is January 14.
3. NEW INFORMATION
The process for extending the contract with the General Manager includes appointing
labor negotiators from the Board of Directors. The Board has identified Jeff Bender
and Ron Hemig to serve as labor negotiators.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this matter as it relates to appointing labor
negotiators.
5. RECOMMENDATION
Appoint Board members Jeff Bender and Ron Hemig as the labor negotiators for the
General Manager's contract.
