HomeMy WebLinkAbout#15 Mary's report To: Board of Directors From: Mary Chapman, Administrative Services Manager Date: January 12, 2001 Monthly Activity Report CUSTOMER SERVICE: The customer service staff remains very busy. They have been dealing with customer questions relating to: questions about their new bill, Donner Lake water, status of the energy problems in California and its affects on Truckee (i.e. rolling blackouts), frozen water pipes, and high bill complaints partially due to extremely cold weather and partially due to the changes in the meter reading schedule to accommodate the conversion. We have also received several positive comments regarding the letter that was sent to all customers relating to the 11% discount and what’s happening with regards to electric problems in California. NEW CONSTRUCTION: New construction continues to be busy. Since we are still having nice weather, many individuals and developers are still coming in to apply for service. BILLING: Billing is current. We have completed our billing conversion. However, we still have several minor billing and meter reading conversion related problems to work out. Going through a billing conversion is a very difficult task. All of the staff is to be commended for the many extra hours they had to put in over the last two and a half months including the holidays. They had to learn all new ways of doing their work, as well as working to resolve many conversion related problems. All the while, they also had to do their daily work. As the months go on, they will become much more proficient on the new system. ACCOUNTING: Accounts payable and payroll are current. We are currently working on interim December financial reports. Nancy is working very hard to complete all of the extra year-end work relating to accounts payable including W2’s and Misc 1099’s. Joan is also spending her time getting organized to work on year-end audit preparation work. PERSONNEL: In December, we filled the position of Work Order Specialist. Tami McCollum was hired to fill the position. Tami has lived in Truckee for 19 years. She worked for several years for her father-in-law who owns Perata Excavation. Many of you may have met Tami at the Awards Banquet. She is doing a great job and we are all happy to have her working with us. 1200MOLY.RPT
