Subject: Consideration of the Award of Facilities Construction Material Bid
1. WHY THIS MATTER IS BEFORE THE BOARD
Board approval is required for expenditures in excess of $15,000.
2. HISTORY
Stockholm Booster Station and Fibreboard Well are in the beginning phase of
construction. An important component of this Well and Pump Station are all of the
piping materials and appurtenances that go into the facilities. From the design work
that was done, staff created a list of materials needed for these two projects.
3. NEW INFORMATION
On February 26, 2009 the District issued request for bids for Stockholm Pump Station,
and Fibreboard Well material purchase. Attachment 1 is a copy of the Request For
Bids. Three bids were received. The lowest responsive bid was from Ferguson
Waterworks in the amount of $48,411.00. A bid summary is included in the following
table.

4. FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funds exist for the Stockholm Pump Station and Fibreboard Well budgets for
this Purchase.
5. RECOMMENDATION
A. Award the contract for facilities piping materials and appurtenances in the amount
of $48,411.00 (plus tax) to Ferguson Waterworks of Sparks, Nevada.
B. Authorize the transfer of $48,411.00 (plus tax) from Water Facilities Fees to the
Department Operations fund.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to prospective bidders that sealed bids will be received by the
Truckee Donner Public Utility District for the purchase of the following:
Well Materials for the Stockholm Pump Station &the Fibreboard Well
Bid Opening: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009
rgency / Standby Power Systems (Generator Sets) for Richards Drive Pump Station
and Innsbruck Pump Station
Bid Opening: 2:30 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Materials for the Glenshire Well Extension, Materials for the Airport Well Shaft
Replacement and Pump & Motor for the Fibreboard Well
Bid Opening: 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Each bid must conform to the requirements of the specifications, which may be obtained by
contacting Sara Owens, (530) 582-3956.
The Truckee Donner Public Utility District specifically reserves the right to reject any and all
bids, waive irregularities or informalities in any or all bids, be the sole judge of the suitability of
the items offered and to accept any bid that it determines to be in its best interest.
